Russia hails Rwanda as a “Reliable Partner” on liberation day

Russia has praised its long-standing friendship with Rwanda, as thousands of Rwandans gathered at Amahoro Stadium on July 4th to commemorate Liberation Day, marking the end of the genocide against the Tutsi and the victory of the Rwandan Patriotic Army.

In a message sent to the President of the Rwandan Senate, François Xavier Kalinda, Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council, extended her heartfelt congratulations on this significant day.

“We value the Russo-Rwandan relations, which have traditionally been characterized by friendship and mutual trust. We see Rwanda as a reliable and long-term partner,” Matvienko stated.
