Rabat to Host Landmark Summit For African Football Agents in April

Rabat is set to become the epicentre of African football this month as it prepares to welcome the continent’s top sports intermediaries for a pivotal three-day summit aimed at reshaping the future of football agency in Africa.
From 28 to 30 April 2025, the Moroccan capital will host the third edition of the African Football Agents Conference (AFAC 2025) at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Organised by the African Association of Football Agents (AFAC) in partnership with FIFA and backed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the summit seeks to lay the groundwork for a more ethical, transparent, and forward-thinking profession.
Following successful editions in Abuja and Nairobi, the choice of Rabat reflects Morocco’s growing stature as a powerhouse in African sport.
The country has made significant investments in sporting infrastructure and talent development.
It is also preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and co-host the FIFA World Cup in 2030 alongside Spain and Portugal.
AFAC 2025 will bring together licensed football agents, sports executives, and institutional leaders to tackle a range of pressing issues.
The conference agenda includes thematic panels on sustainable football development, the emerging role of FIFA-certified agents, the rise of digital technologies in the sport, and the expanding footprint of women’s football across the continent.
Ethical concerns will take centre stage as well, with discussions expected to focus on safeguarding minors in sport and combating human trafficking under the guise of sports migration.
Notable attendees include Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the FRMF, and Daniel Gonçalves de Freitas, a representative of FIFA, alongside several senior Moroccan and African government officials.
AFAC 2025 aims to professionalise football agency across Africa while addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly evolving global sports landscape.
