Moroccan police seize 188,000 ecstasy pills in major drug bust at Tangier port

Moroccan police have seized a massive haul of hallucinogenic drugs totaling 188,102 ecstasy tablets and other narcotic pills at the Tangier Med Port, the country’s largest maritime gateway.
Authorities revealed that the discovery was part of heightened border surveillance measures employing trained sniffer dogs.
The initial inspection uncovered 155,703 ecstasy pills hidden within cavities of a truck’s bodywork arriving from a European country.
Further examination of the vehicle led to the detection of additional shipments concealed within the trailer’s engine radiator, bringing the total seized quantity to 188,102 tablets.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the truck’s driver and his companion, both Moroccan nationals aged 41 and 44.
The suspects are currently under judicial investigation, authorized by the public prosecutor’s office, to uncover the full extent of the smuggling network behind this major operation.
Authorities have lauded the successful bust as a testament to Morocco’s relentless efforts to combat organized crime and drug trafficking.
