Mauritanian foreign minister honours five diplomats at end of tenure

Mauritania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, honoured five diplomats accredited to Nouakchott as their missions in the country come to an end.

The diplomats receiving accolades were Saif bin Hilal bin Ali Al Amri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman; Colin Wells, Ambassador of the United Kingdom; Cynthia Kierscht, Ambassador of the United States; Isabel Hénin, Ambassador of Germany; and Gwilim Jones, Head of the European Union Delegation.

During the ceremony, Minister Ould Merzoug expressed Mauritania’s gratitude for the diplomats’ contributions to strengthening bilateral relations.

He commended their dedication to fostering cooperation and understanding between their respective countries and Mauritania.

On the sidelines of the honouring ceremony, Minister Ould Merzoug held separate discussions with the American and German ambassadors.

These talks focused on enhancing and developing the bilateral cooperation between Mauritania and each of the two countries.
