Eswatini and Taiwan deepen economic ties with strategic trade talks in Taipei

The Kingdom of Eswatini has taken a bold step toward strengthening its economic partnership with Taiwan, following a high-level trade and investment dialogue held on Friday at the Regent Taipei Hotel.
The talks brought together senior officials and industry leaders from both countries, signaling growing momentum for cross-border collaboration in manufacturing, logistics, and technology.
Leading the Eswatini delegation was Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Dr. E.T. Gina, who engaged in focused discussions with top executives from Taiwan’s industrial and logistics sectors.
The aim: to position Eswatini as a strategic hub for Taiwanese investment and as a gateway to Southern African markets.
“We are here to build meaningful, long-term partnerships that will transform our economic landscape,” Dr. Gina said during the meeting, which drew participants from several major Taiwanese firms.
Key Taiwanese stakeholders included Mr. Tang Yu Hsiang (Nichard), CEO of Royal Tang International Logistics; Mr. Huang Ching Chiao (Jonathan), CEO of CSAlliance Corporation and FLELC Language Center; as well as representatives from Dajia Noodles of Origin, O Nongs Foods, and Haipaowang Biotech & Food.
Representing Eswatini’s commercial interests, Mr. Sifiso Dlamini, Sales Director for African Supply at CSAlliance Corporation Ltd., facilitated the bilateral conversations, which covered investment opportunities in manufacturing, biotech, education, and agro-processing.
Taiwanese companies expressed strong interest in establishing production facilities in Eswatini, leveraging the kingdom’s stable political climate, growing infrastructure, and access to regional trade blocs.
Eswatini, one of the few countries maintaining formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, has consistently sought to translate this partnership into tangible economic benefits.
As a gesture of goodwill, the Taiwanese companies presented symbolic gifts to Minister Gina.
The items will be shipped to Eswatini as emblems of friendship and commercial intent.
A follow-up visit by the Taiwanese business delegation is scheduled for August 2025, where site visits and further investment discussions are expected to solidify the agreements laid out in Taipei.
