The youth must be actively represented in events such as the BRICS Civil Forum, which is currently taking place in Moscow, stated Margret Molefe, Vice President of the South African BRICS Youth Association, in an interview with Sputnik Africa.
Highlighting the significance of youth involvement, Molefe emphasized the importance of their participation in the forum, which is being held on July 3rd and 4th.
“We cannot make plans without the youth, and we must participate in political processes. We need to be part of consultations to build this future together,” she asserted.
The BRICS grouping, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, plays a strategic role in representing the Global South both economically and politically.
The bloc collectively accounts for 40% of the world’s population, underscoring its substantial influence.
Molefe pointed out the vast potential for collaboration within the BRICS framework across various sectors, particularly in science and education.
“We can foster relationships in different areas of collaboration.
Regarding education, I pay attention to what other countries are doing that I can bring back home and promote to develop and improve our education system,” she explained.
The forum serves as a crucial platform for young leaders to engage with global counterparts, share innovative ideas, and contribute to shaping the future of their nations.
It also aims to strengthen the ties between BRICS countries by promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.
Molefe’s comments reflect a growing recognition of the critical role that young people play in driving progress and innovation.
Their involvement in forums like this is essential for ensuring that their voices are heard and their ideas are integrated into the development strategies of their respective countries.
The BRICS Civil Forum provides an invaluable opportunity for the youth to connect, learn, and collaborate, setting the stage for a more inclusive and prosperous future.
As young leaders from BRICS nations continue to participate in such events, they pave the way for stronger international partnerships and a better global community.
