Tunisia and Saudi Arabia sign landmark agreement to boost direct investment
Tunisia and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting and strengthening direct investment ties between the two nations.
The agreement was formalized in Tunis by Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khaled Bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh, during the latter’s official visit to Tunisia.
According to a statement released by Tunisia’s Ministry of Economy, the newly signed protocol seeks to deepen bilateral cooperation in the realm of direct investment, fostering opportunities and enhancing coordination and exchanges between the two countries.
The initiative also aims to bolster private sector interactions and facilitate the organization of joint events and visits.
“This memorandum of understanding is a testament to our commitment to strengthening the bonds and collaboration between our two brotherly nations, particularly in the field of investment,” said Minister Abdelhafidh.
He emphasized that the agreement serves as a vehicle to explore and actualize investment opportunities while reinforcing bilateral coordination.
Highlighting the strong cooperative ties between the two countries, Abdelhafidh noted their mutual desire to expand relations across various sectors, especially in the economic domain.
“We are steadfast in our commitment to realizing the vision of our leaders and to advancing our shared interests,” he added.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister Al-Faleh echoed similar sentiments, underscoring the robust bilateral relationship and the ambition to elevate economic cooperation to a strategic partnership.
“Our aim is to translate the directives of our leadership into meaningful and impactful collaboration,” Al-Faleh stated, reiterating the dedication of both nations to enhancing economic ties in the coming phase.
The agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening investment links and reflects both countries’ commitment to fostering mutual growth and prosperity.
