Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a substantial package of rewards for the Super Falcons following their stellar performance at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco.
Each member of the national team will receive a cash reward of $100,000, while technical crew members are set to receive $50,000 each, recognising their vital contributions to the team’s success.
Beyond the financial incentives, President Tinubu has also awarded each player a three-bedroom apartment in the newly developed Renewed Hope Estate, a flagship project under his administration’s affordable housing programme aimed at honouring exceptional national service.
The president’s gesture comes in the wake of the Falcons’ impressive journey to the final of the tournament, where they demonstrated resilience, tactical brilliance, and unwavering dedication on the continental stage.
Addressing the team through his Special Adviser on Sports and Youth Development, President Tinubu praised the Super Falcons as “true ambassadors of Nigeria” who “flew the country’s flag high” throughout the tournament.
“Their display of patriotism, unity, and excellence has made the nation proud. They deserve every accolade and reward for their commitment to the sport and their country,” the president said.
The announcement has been met with celebrations across Nigeria, as the team’s WAFCON campaign reignited national pride and brought women’s football to the forefront of public attention.
The Renewed Hope Estate, where the awarded homes are located, represents a core part of President Tinubu’s broader initiative to provide high-quality, affordable housing to deserving citizens—particularly those who have brought honour to the nation through exceptional achievement.
