South African president Ramaphosa calls for dialogue to foster a multipolar world order

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has stressed the importance of global cohesion and resolving international crises through dialogue, advocating for the development of a multipolar world order.
Speaking at a BRICS session on Thursday, Ramaphosa emphasized that a balanced, multipolar system is essential to the future of international relations and the global prosperity of nations.
He highlighted the need to strengthen existing mechanisms to promote peace and cooperation worldwide, particularly in light of current global tensions.
In his remarks, Ramaphosa expressed concern over the intensifying Israeli military actions in Gaza.
He noted that South Africa had formally petitioned the International Court of Justice to intervene, with the aim of ending violence against innocent women and children in the Gaza Strip.
Reaffirming South Africa’s support for United Nations resolutions, Ramaphosa underscored the country’s commitment to a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, designating East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
He called upon the international community and the UN Security Council to intensify efforts in addressing various crises, not only in the Middle East but also across the African continent.
