China’s ambassador to Cairo, Liao Liqiang, has hailed the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as a powerful engine for advancing ties between Egypt and China, describing the multilateral bloc as “a platform for fostering a shared future.”
Speaking at a seminar on Sunday titled “Promoting the Spirit of Shanghai and Advancing Egypt-China Relations with Steady Steps,” Liao praised Egypt’s growing role in the organization, emphasizing its importance as a dialogue partner.
“The SCO is expanding cooperation not only with member states but also with observer and dialogue partner countries. Egypt’s inclusion reflects this vision,” he said.
The ambassador stressed that the SCO’s cooperation model is rooted in inclusivity, mutual benefit, sustainable development, and innovation—all principles that align with Egypt’s Vision 2030. He added that economic collaboration between China and SCO-affiliated countries has surpassed $140 billion in investments.
“Multilateral cooperation, innovation, and agricultural and developmental partnerships must remain core priorities,” Liao stated.
