Senegalese president embarks on diplomatic visits to UAE and Qatar

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal has begun an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), following an invitation from UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The trip, which started on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, aims to strengthen bilateral ties and explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between the two nations.
The visit is expected to conclude on Friday, December 6, after which President Faye will travel to Qatar to attend the highly anticipated Doha Forum.
Scheduled from December 6 to 8, the forum will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss pressing international challenges, including governance, security, and sustainable development.
President Faye’s participation in the Doha Forum comes at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
His presence underscores Senegal’s commitment to engaging in high-level dialogues on global issues and seeking collaborative solutions that align with the country’s development priorities.
