Morocco has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its multifaceted partnership with Senegal, highlighting shared economic and diplomatic goals during the ongoing Invest in Senegal Economic Forum in Diamniadio.
On October 7, 2025, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, held a formal audience with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD).
During the meeting, Mr. Bourita conveyed the fraternal greetings of King Mohammed VI and expressed the Sovereign’s wishes for success in President Faye’s leadership.
He emphasized Morocco’s dedication to consolidating an “exemplary, solid and multidimensional partnership” with Senegal.
Morocco’s delegation at the forum is led by Mr. Bourita and includes senior representatives from key economic sectors such as banking, energy, industry, medical services, and pharmaceuticals.
According to Rabat, the presence of this high-level delegation underscores the Kingdom’s support for Senegal’s development initiatives and reflects the enduring fraternal ties between the two countries.
The Invest in Senegal Forum, now in its second edition, is the country’s flagship economic event, convened under the auspices of the Presidency.
It draws heads of state and government from across the continent, including leaders from Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, Niger, and South Africa.
The forum provides a platform to connect business leaders, explore investment opportunities, and foster strategic partnerships aimed at sustainable growth in Africa.
Mr. Bourita’s participation aligns with King Mohammed VI’s vision for the continent, which emphasizes strengthening South-South partnerships and promoting inclusive economic development.
By actively engaging in initiatives such as the Invest in Senegal Forum, Morocco seeks to reinforce regional cooperation, encourage private sector collaboration, and support infrastructure and industrial projects that drive African prosperity.
As Senegal hosts this high-profile gathering, the forum reflects not only the country’s growing role as an economic hub in West Africa but also the strategic depth of Morocco-Senegal relations, which continue to evolve through trade, investment, and shared development priorities.
