German-born Ghanaian forward Salim Musah has extended his contract with Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen, the club announced on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
The new deal reinforces the club’s confidence in the young striker’s potential after a remarkable season with the youth team.
“SV Werder Bremen has extended the contract with another cup winner. Centre forward Salim Musah will remain with the Green-Whites,” read a statement from the club.
Marc Dommer, sporting director at the Werder Performance Centre, confirmed the extension, expressing delight over Musah’s continued commitment to the team.
“Thanks to his physical presence, technical ability, and finishing ability, Salim can pose problems for many defensive lines.
Even occasional injuries have not deterred him in his eight years with us. We are pleased that Salim wants to continue his positive development at SV Werder,” Dommer stated.
Musah, who joined the club’s academy in 2017 from VfL Oldenburg at the age of 11, has grown into one of Werder Bremen’s most promising young talents.
Standing at 1.98 meters, the 19-year-old forward has impressed with his commanding presence and sharp instincts in front of goal.
In the 2024–2025 season, Musah delivered an exceptional performance, netting 20 goals in 24 competitive matches — averaging a goal every 70 minutes on the pitch.
His consistency and hunger for goals have made him a key player in the club’s youth setup.
Looking ahead, Musah will participate in preseason training with Werder Bremen’s first team while continuing to feature for the U23 squad.
His development is closely watched by fans and analysts, both in Germany and Ghana, where his dual heritage makes him a player of rising international interest.
