In a decisive move to strengthen governance and efficiency within Cameroon’s public infrastructure sector, the Ministry of Public Works (MINTP) officially installed 24 newly appointed officials during a ceremony held on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Presiding over the event at Ministerial Building No. 1 in Yaoundé, the Secretary of State in charge of Roads, Armand Ndjodom, welcomed 13 Deputy Directors and 11 Heads of Department into their new roles.
Their appointments stem from Ministerial Orders No. 042 and No. 044, signed on July 2 and 3, 2025.
In his address, Secretary of State Ndjodom underscored the rationale behind the appointments: “competence, rigor, and a sense of public service.”
He reminded the appointees that while the promotions were a recognition of merit, they also carried substantial responsibility.
“You are now role models,” he declared, urging the new leaders to display integrity, vision, and unwavering commitment to public duty.
Ndjodom stressed the importance of aligning with Decree No. 2018/461, which outlines the operational framework of the Ministry of Public Works.
The decree emphasizes transparency, procedural discipline, and administrative accountability—principles the Secretary of State described as essential for national development and public trust.
Among the key priorities highlighted were punctuality, loyalty to republican principles, operational efficiency, and responsiveness to citizen needs.
The newly appointed officials are expected to play a central role in elevating the ministry’s performance and accelerating the modernization of Cameroon’s infrastructure.
The ceremony comes amid growing calls for structural improvements in public administration and delivery of essential services, particularly in road construction and maintenance.
With this new cadre of leadership in place, the Ministry of Public Works aims to enhance its capacity to meet ambitious national infrastructure goals.
