Orange Money and OKALM launch strategic alliance to transform digital payments in Burkina Faso

Orange Money and mobility platform OKALM have announced a strategic partnership in a landmark move set to reshape the digital services landscape aimed at enhancing customer convenience and strengthening the country’s digital economy.
The agreement, signed on Thursday, May 26, 2025, in Ouagadougou, establishes a new synergy between two major players in mobile payments and urban mobility.
The collaboration is designed to streamline transactions across OKALM’s platform using Orange Money’s secure and widely accessible payment system.
“In a context where mobility and delivery needs are evolving rapidly, OKALM represents a local, dynamic and modern response,” said Christophe Baziémo, CEO of Orange Money Burkina Faso.
He highlighted that the partnership is grounded in three core values: innovation, inclusion, and digital transformation.
Baziémo explained that customers will now be able to use Orange Money for a range of services on the OKALM platform, including booking transportation, ordering meals, and scheduling parcel deliveries.
“It reinforces our shared commitment to making people’s daily lives easier through digital technology, while supporting the local economy,” he added.
He stressed the importance of developing solutions that are embedded in the everyday lives of Burkinabè citizens. “We firmly believe that technological innovations must first and foremost serve the people.
This is why, at Orange Money Burkina Faso, we are developing services integrated into daily life: in neighborhoods, markets, rural areas, and large cities.”
Echoing these sentiments, OKALM CEO Serge Konan said the collaboration is aligned with his company’s mission to modernize mobility and delivery services in a way that reflects the lifestyle of local users.
“The integration of Orange Money responds to a growing demand for secure and convenient mobile payment methods,” Konan said.
He added that the partnership would allow OKALM users to pay seamlessly for transport and delivery services through their Orange Money mobile wallets, significantly boosting the digitalization and accessibility of these services across Burkina Faso.
This partnership marks a critical step forward in the country’s digital transformation, offering citizens greater financial flexibility and reaffirming the potential of homegrown innovation to address local challenges.
