The project has drawn attention from both local and international film communities, highlighting Morocco’s growing reputation as a hub for global filmmaking.
According to Hespress, the production is inspired by true events and chronicles the story of an Indian Air Force pilot, with Aaryan in the lead role.
Indian media outlet Pinkvilla reports that initial location scouting has already been completed, with filming scheduled to take place between March and July 2026.
The theatrical release is expected in the first half of 2027.
Morocco’s selection as a filming destination reflects more than mere convenience.
Its diverse landscapes, bustling cities, and well-developed cinematic infrastructure have long made it a preferred choice for international productions.
Over the decades, numerous Hollywood films and global projects have used the kingdom to represent deserts, Middle Eastern cities, or even Asian locales, demonstrating its versatility for filmmakers.
Rabat has steadily strengthened its position as a global cinema hub in recent years.
The arrival of Captain India not only underscores Morocco’s appeal to foreign productions but also presents opportunities for the local film industry, including technical crews, actors, and production services.
Local cinema professionals are expected to gain valuable experience through collaboration with the international team.
Film analysts suggest that the collaboration could also deepen cultural ties between India and Morocco, promoting cross-cultural exchange and providing a platform to showcase Morocco’s landscapes and urban settings to a global audience.
As anticipation builds, the Moroccan film sector is preparing to welcome the Bollywood crew with logistical support and incentives, reflecting the country’s commitment to attracting high-profile international productions.
The project is expected to generate economic benefits while reinforcing Morocco’s long-standing reputation as a premier destination for global filmmaking.
