Morocco has reinforced its longstanding commitment to the Palestinian people with the launch of new development initiatives through the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, an entity under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI.
On Tuesday, the Agency announced a series of projects with a combined budget of approximately $2 million, set to benefit Palestinian families in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The initiatives aim to provide targeted support across a range of sectors, from agriculture to small business development.
“The implementation of these projects began on Monday for the benefit of families in several camps in the governorate of the Holy City, including Kalandia, Al-Eizariya, Abu Dis, as well as in towns in the northwest of the governorate,” said Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Director of Management at the Agency.
The programs include support for sheep and cattle farming, cheese and dairy production, baking, sewing, embroidery, beauty services, and the distribution of equipped multi-purpose kiosks.
Olive growers in Al-Quds will also receive harvesting equipment as part of the “Aouna” campaign, designed to strengthen Palestinian farmers under the wider “Somoud” project. These efforts are carried out in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, the Al-Quds Governorate, and the Land Research Center (LRC).
Despite the complex political and security context, the Agency has continued to support Palestinians across Al-Quds, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. Between October 2023 and June 2025, it launched projects totaling $6.5 million, addressing needs ranging from education and mental health to direct humanitarian assistance.
The Agency has also extended aid to vulnerable groups in Gaza, including 300 children who lost limbs during the Israeli conflict and 500 orphans who lost both parents, while maintaining support for the local education system.
Palestinian Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Choubaki, lauded the efforts of the Agency, stating: “The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, under the High Guidance of King Mohammed VI, continues to reaffirm the need to support the resilience of the Maqdessis.”
These projects underline Morocco’s enduring and active solidarity with the Palestinian cause, reflecting both humanitarian concern and a strategic commitment to regional stability.
