Mauritania and South Korea discuss strengthening food security cooperation

Fatima Bint Khatri, Mauritania’s Commissioner for Food Security, welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Youngin, to her office for a high-level meeting.

The talks focused on enhancing the existing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the critical area of food security.

During the discussion, both parties explored ways to deepen their partnership, identifying new opportunities for collaboration to improve food security in Mauritania.

This is an important step in strengthening bilateral ties between Mauritania and South Korea, especially considering the global challenges in food production and distribution.

The meeting was also attended by Mustafa Ould Cheikh Abdallah, the advisor in charge of cooperation at the Mauritanian Commission, as well as several members of the South Korean Ambassador’s team.

Ambassador Yoon emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations, particularly in addressing food security challenges that have become a pressing issue globally.

Through this dialogue, both sides expressed a shared commitment to tackling these challenges together.

The visit marks an important moment in Mauritania’s ongoing efforts to enhance its food security framework, drawing upon international expertise and collaboration, including from nations like South Korea.
