On Monday, customs officers intercepted 4,198 kilograms of hashish, known locally as “Chira,” concealed within the secure storage compartments of a truck.

The hashish was cleverly hidden in tablet form within the vehicle’s compartments, a method increasingly used by traffickers to evade detection.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, another major drug haul was made using non-intrusive scanning technology.
During an import inspection, customs officers discovered 46 kilograms of cocaine stashed within the refrigeration system of a transport truck.
