Lions Club Ouaga Soleil celebrates leadership transition with spirit of unity and service

OUAGADOUGOU – The Lions Club Ouaga Soleil marked a new chapter in its history on Saturday, June 21, 2025, as outgoing president Jeanne Marie Christine Tani/Ilboudo officially handed over leadership to her successor, Euloge Dabiré.
The transition ceremony, held in the vibrant setting of Reemdoogo Music Garden, celebrated the enduring values of continuity, friendship, and community service that define the club’s mission.
Speaking before members, partners, and dignitaries from Lions District 403 A3, Ms. Tani/Ilboudo expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support she received during her 2024–2025 term. She reflected on a year of meaningful achievements, including the twinning with the Ouaga Emerald Lions Club, the induction of five new members, and strict adherence to administrative and financial obligations.
The club also maintained strong involvement in district-wide initiatives.
“Thank you for allowing me to begin my young career as a retiree with so many activities and social benefits,” she said, underscoring how the experience had enriched her both personally and professionally.
She paid tribute to past leaders, donors, and collaborators, highlighting the importance of collective commitment in a nation facing complex social and economic challenges.
On the eve of the club’s 15th anniversary, Ms. Tani/Ilboudo passed the symbolic torch to her “friend and brother” Euloge Dabiré.
In her closing remarks, she pledged her continued support and offered a message of faith and encouragement: “I pray that God will be in control of all our actions.”
The ceremony coincided with World Music Day, infusing the evening with artistic celebration and reinforcing the club’s dedication to cultural engagement and social impact.
With music, fellowship, and a shared vision for the future, the Lions Club Ouaga Soleil reaffirmed its unwavering mission of community service under the banner of unity and continuity.
