Libya’s Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation has launched a series of inspection tours targeting companies operating in the aviation sector, as part of a broader effort to enforce labor and occupational safety regulations.
The initiative, carried out on Thursday by labor and occupational safety inspectors, focuses on ensuring compliance with existing laws and raising standards across the sector.
Officials from the ministry explained that the campaign seeks to monitor and register foreign workers, verify the employment status of national staff, and assess adherence to occupational health and safety procedures.
“These inspections are essential to ensure that all aviation companies operate within the legal framework governing labor rights and workplace safety,” the Ministry of Labor and Social Development said on its official Facebook page.
“Employers are also being reminded of their responsibilities under national legislation regarding work conditions and occupational health.”
The inspection campaign is part of the work plan of the Central Inspection Operations Room, which coordinates regulatory oversight across multiple industries.
Authorities emphasised that the initiative aims to promote a safe and organised work environment, safeguard employees’ rights, and achieve uniform safety standards throughout the country.
Aviation sector employees welcomed the inspections, highlighting that routine monitoring can prevent unsafe working conditions and ensure fair treatment in a fast-growing industry.
Employers, meanwhile, are being encouraged to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and maintain proper documentation to demonstrate compliance.
The ministry has pledged that these inspection tours will continue in the coming months, reflecting a sustained commitment to strengthening regulatory oversight and fostering a culture of workplace safety.
By combining regulatory enforcement with awareness campaigns, the ministry hopes to establish a model for other sectors, balancing economic growth with worker protection and occupational health.
