The National Center for Meteorology has announced a shift toward cooler temperatures in Libya’s northern regions, accompanied by rising humidity, while southern areas brace for sustained high heat.
According to the center, weather conditions between Ras Jedir and Sirte, including the Jfara Plain and Nafusa Mountains, will remain clear to partly cloudy.
Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen during the evening along the coastal strip. Daytime highs are forecast to range from 29°C to 35°C across most northern zones, with humidity increasing notably along the Mediterranean coast.
In the Gulf regions and across the Benghazi Plain up to Amsaid, skies will be clear to partly cloudy, with additional cloud cover anticipated over the Green Mountain tomorrow.
Northwesterly winds will blow at moderate to brisk speeds. Temperatures are set to hover between 31°C and 36°C, with a slight cooling trend expected tomorrow, particularly along the humid coastline.
In contrast, Libya’s southern and central interior will continue to endure oppressive heat. The Al-Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames, and Al-Hamada regions will see predominantly clear skies, with occasional cloud formation over the Haruj Al-Sawda area. Winds will remain variable, blowing lightly to moderately, while maximum temperatures are forecast between 41°C and 43°C. A marginal drop is expected in select areas tomorrow.
The oases of Sarir, Tazirbu, and Kufra will share similar conditions, with clear to partly cloudy skies and clouds thickening near border zones. Winds will be light to moderate from the northwest, and temperatures will remain searing at 41°C to 43°C.
The National Center for Meteorology predicts that temperatures across most regions will moderate more noticeably by midweek, offering relief for residents after days of intense heat in the country’s southern territories.
