The Libyan Ministry of Education has announced the conclusion of an extensive leadership and management training programme for school principals in the capital.
The course, titled “Developing Administrative and Leadership Skills,” was held at the General Centre for Training and Education Development in Tripoli. It targeted the second group of participants from the Greater Tripoli region, bringing together 400 school directors from both primary and secondary education.
According to the ministry, the participants represented schools across several districts, including Tripoli Central, Janzour, Hay Al-Andalus, Ain Zara, Abu Salim, Tajoura, Al-Amiriya, Al-Maamoura, Suwani Bin Adam, and Souq Al-Jumaa.
The programme coincided with the start of the new academic year 2025/2026 and forms part of a wider national initiative to enhance the skills of education leaders. The ministry confirmed that the training plan aims to reach 10,000 principals and deputy principals across Libya.
The course focused on strengthening administrative capabilities and leadership qualities, equipping principals with tools to better manage schools and support teaching staff. The Ministry of Education, through its official channels, emphasised that improving school leadership is key to ensuring a disciplined, effective, and modernised educational process.
Officials said that the nationwide training initiative reflects a broader government commitment to reforming the education sector and creating a supportive environment for both students and teachers.
The Ministry reaffirmed that enhancing the professional capacity of school leaders will help schools across Libya meet the challenges of a fast-changing world while ensuring the highest standards of education for the country’s youth.
