Bouna General Hospital received a generous donation of maternity care kits and sanitation equipment on Saturday, June 28, 2025, aimed at supporting women giving birth and improving postnatal care.
The initiative was led by Djamila Ouattara, wife of the mayor of the commune, who sought to assist women—many from modest backgrounds—during a critical time.
The donation includes essential supplies for maternity care as well as kits for new mothers, designed to ease the challenges faced in childbirth and early motherhood.
This effort was further bolstered by Ivorian artist Molare, who personally contributed 50,000 CFA francs to each mother delivering at the hospital. His financial support touched many, eliciting emotional gratitude from both beneficiaries and their families.
Dr. Abo Calixte, director of Bouna General Hospital, expressed heartfelt thanks for the donation, emphasizing how this generous act strengthens the medical team’s commitment to providing a clean and compassionate environment for postnatal care.
“This support is a vital reinforcement of our ongoing efforts to maintain quality and humanity in healthcare,” he said, pledging to ensure the equipment’s rigorous and sustainable use.
This collaborative effort highlights the power of community solidarity in improving maternal health services in Bouna, reflecting a broader commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and enhancing healthcare outcomes in the region.
