Kinshasa to spotlight young visionaries at Pierre Castel prize grand oral

Kinshasa is preparing to celebrate the creativity and resilience of its entrepreneurial youth as it hosts the “Grand Oral” of the prestigious Pierre Castel Prize on Friday, June 27, 2025.
The event, taking place at 1:00 p.m. in the Texaf Bilembo cultural space, marks a highlight in the sixth edition of the pan-African competition that empowers young entrepreneurs revolutionizing Africa’s food systems.
Spearheaded by the Pierre Castel Foundation in collaboration with Bracongo—and for the first time, BRASIMBA—the competition honours initiatives that drive sustainable transformation through environmental, social, and economic impact.
Each year, it identifies standout projects led by young Africans whose ventures are shaping a more resilient and innovative future for the continent.
The Congolese finalists will face the jury in a live pitch session, presenting their projects and competing for a €25,000 prize.
The winner will go on to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo in the pan-African finale set for September, where they will challenge winners from other participating nations for the ultimate title of “super winner” and an additional €10,000 in funding—bringing the grand total to €35,000.
More than just a competition, the Pierre Castel Prize has evolved into a launchpad for young African leaders.
It not only provides financial support but also offers mentorship and visibility to early-stage entrepreneurs making tangible changes in their communities.
Organisers have extended a warm invitation to the public to attend the Grand Oral, witness the energy of youth-led innovation, and support a generation determined to redefine Africa’s agricultural future.
As the spotlight turns to Kinshasa, all eyes will be on the transformative ideas that could soon shape the continent’s development landscape.
