
Kenya’s Harambee Stars captain and Ulinzi Stars player Boniface Muchiri has been promoted to the rank of Corporal in recognition of his exceptional performances at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The promotion ceremony was presided over by Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Charles Kahariri, with the new rank formally conferred by Major General Luka Kutto, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command.
Muchiri played a pivotal role in Kenya’s 1–0 Group A victory over Zambia, delivering a performance described by officials as “memorable” and a key factor in the team’s success. His leadership on the field and dedication to representing Kenya were highlighted as central to the promotion decision.
General Kahariri praised Muchiri for his discipline, commitment, and professionalism. “We are very grateful for your commitment, hard work, and excellent performance while serving Kenya and, by extension, the KDF. We wish you success in future assignments and are confident you will continue to excel,” he said.
