More than 10,000 participants are expected to attend the 8th edition of the International Forum and African Transport Exhibition (FISAT), scheduled to take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from October 24-26, 2024.
This year’s event will focus on the theme, “Transport, Logistics, and Infrastructure: Spotlight on the User.”
Held on the scenic shores of the Ebrié Lagoon, FISAT has become a prominent platform for key stakeholders in the transport industry.
The event serves as a vital space for exchanging ideas and reflecting on user expectations within the sector.
The 2024 edition will feature high-profile national and international players in the transport and logistics industries.
Discussions, expert demonstrations, and business meetings will shape policies, strategies, and opportunities for networking.
The launch ceremony for FISAT 2024 will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Abidjan, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of Afrika Transtour, the company behind the initiative.
Madame Magnatié Bamba, the event’s General Commissioner, is working closely with the organizing committee to ensure that the forum meets the needs and expectations of those who contribute to the transport sector, a crucial pillar in the Ivorian and African economies.
Last year’s FISAT 7, themed “Modernizing Logistics, Transport Ecosystems, and Infrastructure: Sustainability, Digitalization, and Youth Employability—Challenges and Opportunities for Africa’s Future,” was inaugurated by Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Mambé.
The event generated numerous recommendations, including the importance of fostering innovation, regional collaboration, and adopting environmentally friendly practices.
Experts also highlighted the need to improve youth training to boost their employability in emerging transport sectors.
One key takeaway from previous discussions was the call for a unified approach among African customs services to remove barriers to implementing the Yamoussoukro Decision, aimed at advancing air transport integration in the region.
FISAT’s growing reputation has earned recognition from the Ivorian government, with Afrika Transtour being awarded the National Prize for its outstanding contribution to promoting the transport sector.
