Communities in Nao have received a significant boost as the deputy of Tanda, Kouanda Inoussou, delivered five tonnes of cement, roofing sheets, and a grinding machine to support the completion of teachers’ housing and women’s income-generating activities.
The donation, handed over on Friday, September 12, forms part of the ongoing efforts of State Minister Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani to address the practical needs of the Nao population. “This gesture reflects the minister’s commitment to providing concrete solutions to the concerns of the people of Nao,” Deputy Inoussou said, highlighting that the initiative seeks to improve teachers’ living conditions while empowering women economically.
The school director in Nao welcomed the contribution, emphasising its impact on the teaching staff. “These homes will provide a decent environment for our teachers and contribute to their stability. We sincerely thank State Minister Adjoumani and his representative, Deputy Inoussou Kouanda, for this demonstration of care,” he said.
Kouakou Dapa, speaking on behalf of the local community, also expressed gratitude for the minister’s support, describing the gesture as a meaningful step toward community development.
The donation is part of a wider pattern of solidarity and local development initiatives regularly championed by Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, who serves as president of the Gontougo Regional Council. His efforts have consistently focused on improving both infrastructure and social support programs in the region.
In addition to the construction materials, the event included a distribution of school kits to local students, organised by Fondation 221 in collaboration with the Gontougo Regional Council. Nao, situated about twenty kilometres from Tanda in the northeastern Gontougo region, benefits from these interventions aimed at enhancing education and supporting livelihoods.
Such contributions underscore the continued focus on improving educational infrastructure and promoting economic empowerment at the community level, reflecting a broader commitment to sustainable development in the region.
