The Bouaflé site of the Société de Limonaderies et de Boissons Renouvelables d’Afrique (SOLIBRA) was honoured on August 4, 2025, at the presidential palace in Abidjan, receiving the National Excellence Award for the best eco-citizen company or organisation.
This prestigious accolade recognises SOLIBRA’s outstanding commitment to sustainable practices and social responsibility across Ivory Coast.
Speaking on behalf of SOLIBRA’s CEO, Linda Okossi Assamoi, Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, expressed pride in the recognition.
“All these actions have allowed us to reach the highest level and win this prestigious eco-citizen award,” she said, highlighting the company’s many eco-responsible initiatives nationwide, with a special focus on the Bouaflé plant.
Ms Assamoi emphasised SOLIBRA’s ongoing dedication to environmental and societal progress. Key efforts include the reuse of water from the treatment plant for irrigation of green spaces, utilisation of well water in production, and strengthened community engagement through various social projects.
The Bouaflé facility boasts a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant, ensuring optimal management of industrial effluents and gaseous emissions, fully compliant with environmental standards.
SOLIBRA’s drive towards energy transition is evident through innovations such as expanded LED lighting, installation of solar panels, and motion sensors, which together have reduced electricity consumption from 1.71 to 1.36 MJ/L between 2020 and 2024. In line with circular economy principles, the company rigorously sorts, collects, and recycles solid waste, further supported by public space recycling systems.
The plant holds multiple certifications—ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 22000/HACCP—demonstrating high standards in environmental, quality, safety, and food hygiene management, verified through regular audits.
On the social front, SOLIBRA engages in reforestation, raises awareness about plastic waste management, and supports eco-friendly school infrastructure development. The company champions gender equality, with women constituting over 30% of its executive committee.
Investing more than 141 million CFA francs in CSR projects in 2024 alone, SOLIBRA Bouaflé exemplifies the harmony between sustainable growth, industrial innovation, and civic responsibility. With an annual brewing capacity of 550,000 hectolitres, the plant stands as a model of performance and environmental stewardship within the Ivorian industrial landscape.
This recognition was part of the 12th edition of the National Excellence Award, which honoured a total of 74 recipients for their contributions to excellence across various sectors.
