Since the session’s opening on July 9, a series of significant activities have taken place, including a Bureau meeting of the APF, bilateral talks between Adama Bictogo and the President of the French National Assembly, and the presentation of legislative measures to return the cultural artifact—the talking drum Djidji Ayôkwé—to Côte d’Ivoire.
Delegations from member parliaments also engaged in extensive exchanges to strengthen cooperation.
The formal inauguration of the 50th session occurred on July 12 at the French National Assembly, marking the commencement of the plenary discussions that will shape the future direction of the APF.
In a testament to the enduring and robust ties between Paris and Abidjan, President Bictogo received a special invitation to attend the prestigious July 14 Bastille Day parade on the Champs-Élysées, underscoring the importance of Franco-Ivorian relations.
This high-profile engagement highlights Ivory coast’s active role within the Francophone community and its commitment to advancing shared democratic values and development goals on the international stage.
