Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Guinea has officially presented its new Managing Director, Ibrahima Diallo, who assumes leadership of the company amid ambitious plans to modernize logistics infrastructure and support Guinea’s economic transformation.
The announcement was made during a press luncheon held on Wednesday, June 24, in the capital Conakry, bringing together top local media, including Africaguinee.com.
Mr. Diallo, appointed on February 2, 2025, brings to AGL Guinea a rich international career in logistics, transportation, and digital systems.
He has held senior roles across major global companies such as Webb Fontaine, Total Energies, CGI, and SOGET SA in Congo.
His experience, spanning technology and freight systems, now anchors his mission to expand AGL’s presence and reinforce Guinea’s logistics capabilities.
“The AGL Group is one of the world leaders in logistics, particularly in port terminal management. We support our clients in comprehensive and integrated projects throughout the Republic of Guinea,” said Mr. Diallo.
AGL Guinea is already a significant actor in the country’s logistics landscape.
The company has invested in a 340-meter quay, installed three dockside gantry cranes and twelve RTG gantries, and implemented a dry bridge in Kagbélen.
The group also operates the container and roll-on/roll-off terminals under the Conakry Terminal brand, providing services in freight handling, warehousing, and transportation.
“We built the container terminal and the roll-on/roll-off terminal in Conakry.
AGL Logistics provides all logistics services to our customers—consignment, handling, transport, warehousing. We operate at all levels to provide integrated support to all our partners,” Mr. Diallo explained.
Highlighting the country’s 25% growth in logistics volume amid a mining boom, he stressed the importance of matching infrastructure with rising demand.
“We are here to support investors and companies already established in the country,” he said.
AGL Guinea is also intensifying its social responsibility initiatives.
Mr. Diallo pointed to recent projects such as the Béréko school in Mamou and pledged continued support in education, health, and access to water.
“We will continue this commitment by remaining attentive to the communities, to support them towards emergence,” he said.
A major €200 million investment plan is underway to modernize the port of Conakry.
Key projects include constructing a new quay and expanding warehousing to increase transport capacity.
Crucially for job seekers, AGL Guinea is launching a broad recruitment drive.
“We are currently engaged in a very active recruitment campaign. We are looking for qualified candidates in several fields: management, finance, transport, logistics,” Mr. Diallo announced.
AGL, a subsidiary of the global shipping giant MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company), operates in 50 countries and employs over 23,000 people.
In Guinea, it offers end-to-end logistics solutions spanning maritime and air freight, customs clearance, port and airport handling, and specialized cargo delivery.
With Ibrahima Diallo at the helm, AGL Guinea appears poised to not only strengthen Guinea’s logistical capacity but also play a transformative role in its economic and social development.
