President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau paid a working and friendly visit to Chad on Thursday, July 24, 2025, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two West and Central African nations.
Upon his arrival at Hassan Djamous International Airport in N’Djamena, President Embaló was warmly received by Chadian Prime Minister and Head of Government, Ambassador Allah Maye Halina.
The welcoming delegation also included several members of the Chadian government and officials from the Prime Minister’s cabinet.
Following the airport reception, President Embaló and Prime Minister Halina proceeded to the Palais Toumaï for high-level discussions and bilateral engagements.
The working session focused on consolidating the longstanding ties between Chad and Guinea-Bissau, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The visit, described as both symbolic and strategic, underscored the importance of regional solidarity and South-South partnerships at a time when the continent continues to navigate complex political, economic, and security challenges.
At the conclusion of the visit, Prime Minister Halina personally accompanied President Embaló back to Hassan Djamous International Airport, where the Bissau-Guinean leader departed for his country, capping a visit that reinforced the strong and historic bonds between the two nations.
