The delegation, led by Jean Victor Ouédraogo, coordinator of the Association for the Development of the Rural World (ADMR), met with the minister to express thanks for his sponsorship and unwavering support for the pioneering event, which took place in Ouahigouya from May 1 to 4, 2025.
“This report reflects our passion and determination to build a greener and more prosperous future for our communities,” said Jean Victor Ouédraogo, speaking on behalf of the organizing team.
He underscored the report as both a record of success and a roadmap for sustained rural development across the region.
Thousands of stakeholders from across Burkina Faso’s agricultural, environmental, and pastoral sectors attended the four-day exhibition, which was designed to facilitate innovation, collaboration, and the showcasing of local expertise.
The event emerged directly from the recommendations of the 7th International Agriculture, Environment and Livestock Show (SIAEL), as a more regional and inclusive platform.
Minister Gilbert Ouédraogo warmly welcomed the report and praised the event’s impact on rural communities, reaffirming his ministry’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen local economies and preserve environmental resources.
“This initiative brings hope to our rural populations,” the minister noted, commending the ADMR and its partners for transforming strategic vision into tangible community engagement.
SRAEL, now hailed as a promising offshoot of the larger SIAEL, is expected to become a recurring milestone in Burkina Faso’s agricultural calendar, amplifying the voices and innovations of grassroots actors driving the country’s rural transformation.
The event and its outcomes mark a renewed commitment to sustainable development, rooted in local knowledge and empowered by national support
