The Ghana Police Service has officially inducted 238 new officers into its ranks during a vibrant passing-out ceremony held at the Regional Police Training School in Ho on Wednesday, July 17, 2025.
The new cohort is composed of 207 general recruits and 31 cadet officers who successfully completed a rigorous training programme aimed at equipping them with the skills required for modern policing.
The curriculum featured advanced modules in criminal law, tactical motor riding, aquatic rescue operations, and crowd control strategies—designed to address the increasingly complex demands of national security.
Commissioner of Police Daniel Kwame Afriyie, who served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony, praised the graduates for their impressive tactical displays and overall discipline.
“Your turnout and drill standards demonstrate readiness to fulfill your mandate,” he stated, commending their professionalism and preparedness.
COP Afriyie further revealed plans for the establishment of a 24-hour operational secretariat. This initiative, he noted, would enable the police service to swiftly respond to emerging threats and stay ahead of evolving criminal tactics in the country.
General Recruit Emmanuel Amedome emerged as the top performer across all training modules, earning recognition for his exemplary conduct and dedication.
In a heartfelt address, COP Afriyie reminded the new officers of the principles of servant leadership, urging them to carry out their duties with humility, integrity, and professionalism. “You are custodians of law – serve with humility and unwavering professionalism,” he said.
The all-male graduation ceremony was attended by senior members of the security services, proud family members, and dignitaries from across the Volta Region, marking a significant milestone in the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to strengthening public safety and community engagement.
