In Gabon, a new digital platform, “Secure My Vote,” has been unveiled just weeks before the country’s legislative and local elections, promising to reinforce transparency and security for candidates’ results.
Developed by Libreville-based 2M Interactive, the platform centralizes the processing of voting reports, consolidates polling station scores in real time, and generates a comprehensive digital database that candidates can reference in case of disputes before the Constitutional Court.
Additionally, it features a survey module and a targeted distribution service via WhatsApp, enabling candidates to communicate directly with voters while reducing logistical burdens.
Dr. Jean Philippe Meiye, the platform’s designer and former Deputy Director General of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), highlighted the tool’s role in promoting electoral integrity.
“Secure My Vote is a transparency tool in line with the warnings of the Head of State, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who recently recalled that Gabonese democracy cannot be weakened by negligence or opacity,” he said.
With over 30 years of experience in digital systems and embedded technologies, Dr. Meiye has led a team of engineers to ensure that the platform is both reliable and user-friendly.
His previous contributions include work on the IBOGA project, Gabon’s official biometric identity system, reflecting a long-standing commitment to integrating technology into public administration.
2M Interactive’s innovation aims not only to secure voting results but also to enhance public confidence in the electoral process. By providing candidates with verified data in real time, the platform seeks to reduce disputes and improve the credibility of election outcomes.
As Gabon approaches the 2025 elections, “Secure My Vote” represents a significant step in leveraging technology to support democratic processes, combining efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in a single digital solution.
The platform is now accessible to candidates through www.securisermonvote.ga, offering a modern approach to managing electoral communications and safeguarding the democratic process in Gabon.
