BW Energy has reported producing 2.9 million barrels of oil during the second quarter of 2025, as the company prepares to release its full financial results on 1 August.
In a statement issued on 18 July, the energy group revealed that 2.4 million barrels of this total were extracted from the Dusafu permit, located offshore Gabon, where BW Energy holds a 73.5% direct stake.
The Dusafu field alone delivered an average output of 32,300 barrels per day during the quarter, underscoring its role as a key driver of the company’s regional operations.
The figures highlight the continued momentum of BW Energy’s activities in Gabon, which has become central to the company’s production strategy in West Africa.
The Dusafu permit remains one of Gabon’s most significant offshore oil assets, with BW Energy’s controlling interest giving it a leading position in the field’s development and output.
The latest operational update comes ahead of BW Energy’s half-year financial disclosure, which is expected to provide further insight into the group’s revenues, profitability, and investment plans for the remainder of 2025.
Investors and analysts are closely watching the results for indications of how sustained production at Dusafu and other assets will translate into earnings growth amid fluctuating global oil prices.
With Gabon continuing to rely heavily on hydrocarbons for export revenues, BW Energy’s performance on the Dusafu permit will play a critical role not only for the company but also for the country’s broader energy sector. The forthcoming financial results are expected to clarify BW Energy’s capital allocation plans and its strategy for boosting production capacity in the region over the coming quarters.
