His Majesty King Mswati III has made a compelling call to Taiwanese business leaders, urging them to explore and invest in Eswatini’s growing economic landscape.
Addressing a 22-member delegation from Taiwan, the monarch emphasized the kingdom’s readiness to welcome international partnerships that can drive growth and innovation.
Speaking at the Taiwan-Eswatini Business Presentation held at the Mandvulo Grand Hall on Tuesday evening, King Mswati III highlighted the country’s strategic advantages, including its gateway position to continental and global markets, low crime levels, stable political climate, and renowned cultural hospitality.
“We are making history today, especially following the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who represented the President of Taiwan during one of our national celebrations. On that day, we relaunched the strategic oil reserve project — an initiative supported by Taiwan,” the King said.
He also reaffirmed Eswatini’s commitment to fostering strong bilateral ties with Taiwan, praising the island nation’s resilience and its global role in combating hunger, poverty, and disease. The King stated that such partnerships are essential in crafting real, sustainable solutions to the world’s challenges.
“Eswatini gives investors access to markets through agreements such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Taiwanese businesses can benefit from these markets once established in the kingdom,” he added.
The Taiwanese delegation is currently undertaking a scoping mission to identify sectors ripe for investment, exploring potential opportunities that span energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture.
King Mswati described Eswatini as a peaceful and culturally vibrant nation, emphasizing that these qualities create an ideal environment for business growth and international collaboration.
The presentation was also attended by Taiwan’s Ambassador to Eswatini, Jeremy Liang, who echoed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.
