The Ministry of Transport has released updated schedules and fares for trains running between Cairo and Alexandria on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

The update is part of an ongoing modernization effort for Egypt’s railway sector, which includes the acquisition of 1,350 new air-conditioned passenger coaches, 240 locomotives, and extensive upgrades across the rail network.

The schedule for the Cairo–Alexandria line covers a range of options, from economy services to luxury Talgo trains, with ticket prices spanning first, second, and third-class categories.

Morning departures:

Train 119 departs Cairo at 5:00 a.m. and arrives in Alexandria at 9:50 a.m. (65 EGP).
Train 903 leaves at 6:00 a.m., reaching Alexandria by 9:30 a.m. (First class: 80 EGP, Second class: 65 EGP).
Talgo Train 2025, a premium Spanish service, departs Cairo at 8:00 a.m. and arrives at 10:30 a.m. (First class: 225 EGP, Second class: 150 EGP).
Express Train 901 (Spanish, air-conditioned) leaves at 8:10 a.m., arriving at 11:15 a.m. (First class: 80 EGP, Second class: 65 EGP).
VIP Train 905 departs at 9:00 a.m., arriving at 11:30 a.m. (First class: 145 EGP, Second class: 115 EGP).

Afternoon services:

Express Train 911 departs Cairo at 10:00 a.m., arriving at 1:05 p.m.
Turbine Train 89 leaves at 11:15 a.m., arriving at 1:55 p.m. (First class: 105 EGP, Second class: 75 EGP).
Express Train 913 departs at 12:00 p.m., reaching at 2:50 p.m. (First class: 80 EGP, Second class: 65 EGP).
Talgo Train 2023 departs at 2:00 p.m., arriving at 4:30 p.m. (First class: 225 EGP, Second class: 150 EGP).
