The Minister of Justice, Counselor Adnan Fanjari, inaugurated the Sixth International Conference on Forensic Medical Sciences and Artificial Intelligence on Monday, highlighting Egypt’s growing role in advancing the intersection of science and law.
The event was organised by the Forensic Medicine Authority and brought together physicians, researchers, and experts from nineteen countries.
In his opening remarks, Minister Fanjari welcomed the distinguished international delegates, praising the conference as “an indispensable pillar in achieving justice.”
He emphasized the vital role of forensic sciences as a bridge between scientific evidence and legal proceedings, noting that the event reflects Egypt’s commitment to scientific research and institutional excellence.
“The Ministry of Justice seeks to consolidate the foundations of the rule of law and spares no effort in supporting the Forensic Medicine Authority,” the minister said. He also expressed his gratitude to the Authority for organising the conference “with a high scientific spirit and remarkable institutional effort.”
Dr. Ayman Hassan, Head of the Forensic Medicine Authority, welcomed attendees and thanked the minister for his support.
He highlighted the Authority’s long-standing history as one of the region’s most established forensic institutions, noting significant advancements in infrastructure, technology, laboratories, and human expertise.
“These developments have enabled the Authority to obtain high-level international accreditations across Africa, the Middle East, and the Arab world,” Dr. Hassan said.
He added that the Authority is now establishing the Ministry of Justice’s first digital laboratory, designed to examine digital evidence from computers and mobile devices using cutting-edge global technologies.
The conference provides a platform for sharing expertise on forensic sciences and artificial intelligence, fostering international cooperation in criminal investigations, legal processes, and scientific innovation.
Observers note that events like this strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional leader in forensic research and highlight the country’s ongoing efforts to integrate advanced technology into justice systems.
With sessions scheduled over several days, the conference is expected to cover topics ranging from digital forensics and DNA analysis to ethical standards and international cooperation, reflecting the evolving landscape of modern forensic practice.
