Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Atta, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor, carried out an inspection of the medical convoy stationed at the Hager El-Dabaia Unit under the Qurna Health Administration.
The convoy, which offers an array of specialized medical services, is part of a broader effort to expand access to healthcare in remote areas of the governorate.
The mobile medical unit provides services across multiple specialties, including obstetrics and gynecology, family planning, pediatrics, dermatology, internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics.
The convoy is also equipped to deliver radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and routine screenings for blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
Dr. Abu Al-Atta’s visit aligns with directives from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and Luxor Governor, Engineer Abdel Mutalib Amara, both of whom have called for intensified field visits to monitor the delivery of public health services.
“The medical and nursing staff are present and fully equipped at all clinics. Medication is available and being dispensed free of charge,” said Dr. Abu Al-Atta. “Patient records are being properly documented, and cases needing further intervention are being referred to hospitals,” he added.
The Luxor Health Directorate has established a plan to dispatch a medical convoy weekly to visit villages across the governorate, aiming to make healthcare more accessible to underserved communities.
In addition, Dr. Abu Al-Atta reviewed the implementation of the presidential initiative “100 Days of Health,” which continues across the region under the supervision of Dr. Sahar Abu Al-Wafa, the initiative’s coordinator, and local health department directors.
Mobile and fixed medical teams have been deployed across several locations, including Al-Adisat Bahri and Hajer Al-Maris units, as well as temporary setups at election committee sites in Al-Tod and Balnadafin. Additional teams are operating in Al-Kaiman, Al-Hamidat, and Al-Komir under the Esna Health Administration.
