Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Moaty, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, officially announced the commencement of voting on the second day of the 2025 Senate elections from the main operations room at the governorate’s National Emergency and Public Safety Network Control Center.
Polling stations across the region opened promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, welcoming voters amid a visible turnout.
Dr. Abdel Moaty confirmed that the electoral process is progressing smoothly and securely at all polling stations throughout the governorate.
He highlighted the close coordination with security and executive authorities to safeguard voting venues and ensure an efficient, uninterrupted procedure. Special attention is being given to assist the elderly and people with disabilities, ensuring they have full access to polling facilities.
“The process is being monitored in real time via subsidiary operations rooms located in local administrative units, all directly linked to the central command room to oversee developments as they unfold,” the governor explained.
In Kafr El-Sheikh, approximately 2,407,571 eligible voters are participating in this constitutional exercise, spread across 439 polling stations with 442 subcommittees. Judicial oversight is maintained by a contingent of judges working alongside civil police officers who secure polling stations from the outside, guaranteeing voter safety.
The governorate has declared a state of maximum preparedness across all public and central hospitals, with first aid stations set up near polling centers.
Dozens of ambulances are on standby, supported by medical and nursing teams deployed by the Kafr El-Sheikh Health Directorate.
Civil Defense units have provided firefighting and security equipment to bolster emergency response capabilities.
Major General Abdel Moaty urged citizens to fulfill their national duty by heading to the polls, underscoring that voter participation symbolizes the Egyptian people’s commitment to democracy, national stability, and future progress.
