A significant number of education professionals turned out to cast their votes in the 2025 Senate elections across Gharbia Governorate, with officials confirming smooth operations and full readiness across polling centers.
Engineer Nasser Hassan, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education in Gharbia, stated that the elections operations room documented a large turnout from education workers early in the day.
He confirmed that schools designated as polling stations were fully equipped, with inquiry services provided at the entrances to assist voters.
“There has been a large turnout of education workers casting their votes in various committees. Schools are completely prepared to receive voters, and there is an inquiry service in front of each committee,” Hassan said.
Governor of Gharbia, Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, supervised the opening of the polls from the National Emergency and Public Safety Network Control Center located at the governorate’s general office. The control center allows real-time monitoring of the election process across all 654 polling stations situated in different cities, centers, and districts of the governorate.
During his inspection, Governor El-Gendy ensured that the voting process was proceeding smoothly and that the required services and facilities were available for all voters. These included shaded areas, seating for the elderly and people with disabilities, adequate lighting, and standby alternative power supplies.
“All committees are operating efficiently, and the facilities provided are ensuring a comfortable voting environment for everyone,” said El-Gendy.
He also confirmed the presence of election committee heads and staff, as well as members of supporting agencies at their designated sites.
The turnout in Gharbia highlights growing civic engagement as citizens across Egypt head to the polls to elect members of the Senate—an upper chamber responsible for legislative review and advisory duties under the Egyptian political system.
