Egypt and Senegal strengthen economic ties at high-Level business forum in Dakar

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, inaugurated the Egyptian-Senegalese Business Forum in Dakar on Thursday, marking a significant step in enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
The high-profile forum brought together key stakeholders from both countries, including Senegal’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Serigne Gueye Diop, the Director of the Senegalese Investment Promotion Agency, Bakary Sega Bathily, and Abdoulaye Sow, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Senior government officials and representatives from both public and private sectors were also in attendance.
The event featured a robust Egyptian delegation of over 30 business leaders, CEOs, and representatives of major Egyptian companies across diverse sectors.
The delegation was led by Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly, Chairman of the African Cooperation Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries.
Among the prominent figures present were Dr. Mohy Hafez, Chairman of the Export Council for Medical Industries, Major General Hazem Ahmed Yehia, Assistant Director of the Future of Egypt Sustainable Development Agency, and representatives from the Egyptian Exporters Association, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the General Petroleum Authority, and the Mineral Resources Authority.
The forum aimed to promote investment opportunities, deepen trade ties, and foster collaboration between the two countries in fields such as industry, healthcare, energy, and sustainable development.
Minister Abdel Aaty emphasized the importance of African economic integration and mutual development, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to building strategic partnerships across the continent.
The forum was hailed by participants as a timely platform for dialogue and cooperation, with several agreements and memoranda of understanding expected to follow in the coming months.
