Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education has begun the third phase of university admissions coordination for 2025, with approximately 175,000 students registering their preferences.
Dr. Gouda Ghanem, General Supervisor of the Coordination Office, announced on Tuesday, 26 August, that this stage allows successful students from the first and second rounds of high school exams to submit their university choices.
The registration process will continue until all eligible students have entered their preferences.
Speaking on the “This Morning” program broadcast on Extra News, Dr. Ghanem confirmed that the third phase targets students who were unable to participate in the earlier stages.
“There are around 175,000 first-round students who did not register in the first and second phases and are now entering their preferences for the third phase,” he said.
He also noted that students from the second round, whose results were released on 28 August, will be able to register after receiving their success forms.
The Ministry of Education is set to begin distributing these forms on Sunday, allowing students to access the electronic coordination website and complete their registrations.
Dr. Ghanem stressed the importance of safeguarding login credentials. “Students must be careful not to leak the password, as it could be used by anyone to modify preferences or enter different preferences without the student’s knowledge,” he warned, highlighting the security measures in place to ensure the integrity of the process.
The Coordination Office system is a centralised platform designed to streamline university admissions, balancing student preferences with available spots across public universities. Officials say the process aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and efficient placement of students into programs that match their academic performance and aspirations.
The third phase is expected to conclude in the coming weeks, providing thousands of students with the opportunity to secure placements in Egypt’s higher education institutions and continue their academic journeys.
