Cotonou is set to become a vibrant epicenter of African creativity as the city prepares to host the 7th edition of Fashion Month from July 23 to 26, 2025.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts through the Arts and Culture Development Agency (ADAC), this year’s event promises to be a milestone for Benin’s burgeoning fashion industry.
Themed “Roots and Future,” the festival is closely aligned with Benin’s national cultural policy, underscoring a strong ambition to professionalize, promote, and structure the local fashion sector.
As a strategic lever for the cultural and creative industries, Fashion Month aims to transform fashion into a dynamic economic force within the country.
Over four days, Cotonou will be transformed into a hub for exchange, discovery, and celebration, featuring a rich program of panels, masterclasses, exhibitions, and immersive experiences.
The event’s highlight is the much-anticipated “Nuit de la Mode,” a spectacular fashion show showcasing the excellence and diversity of Beninese design.
Among the special guests is Samir Sabé, a Paris-based designer, model, and activist of Beninese origin. Known for his committed style and dedication to Black aesthetics, Sabé will offer crucial insights on representation in contemporary fashion.
Another pivotal figure is Olouwa G, an esteemed stylist and model maker from Benin, appointed as the official ambassador for the 2025 edition. With a vision deeply rooted in Beninese clothing traditions yet forward-looking, Olouwa G will play a key role in shaping a distinct national stylistic identity.
Primarily an institutional event, Fashion Month targets industry professionals, media representatives, and partners. Participation is by invitation or prior registration through ADAC’s official channels, ensuring an exclusive gathering that aims to elevate Benin’s place on the African and global fashion stage.
