China and Chad renew historic bond, pledge joint path to peace and shared prosperity

In a powerful speech underscoring decades of solidarity and shared sacrifice, Chinese Ambassador Wang Xining reaffirmed the strength of relations between China and Chad, calling for deeper cooperation to promote global peace and mutual development.
“The Chinese and Chadian peoples, each on their own front, fought with courage and resilience, making a historic contribution to the global victory over fascism,” Ambassador Wang stated.
“They rightfully share in the immortal glory of that great triumph.”
Speaking on the enduring legacy of wartime sacrifice, Wang highlighted the immense toll borne by China, which served as the principal theater of war in the Far East.
More than 35 million Chinese citizens perished, and the country suffered economic losses estimated at $600 billion.
He also paid heartfelt tribute to the tens of thousands of Chadian soldiers who gave their lives on European battlefields during the anti-fascist campaign.
“In the face of such immense suffering and devastation inflicted by fascist aggression, it is essential to unite under the banner of peace and justice,” Wang emphasized.
The ambassador called on both nations to commit to a path of peaceful development, mutual respect, and win-win cooperation, as the world confronts new global challenges.
He noted that the historical experiences of both countries serve as a moral compass, guiding them toward a future grounded in solidarity and shared progress.
China, he said, remains committed to enhancing its strategic bilateral partnership with Chad.
“Our goal is to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and unite our efforts to contribute more meaningfully to world peace, development, and the promotion of international fairness and justice.”
The ambassador’s remarks come at a time when China’s role in Africa continues to grow through infrastructure investment, diplomatic engagement, and people-to-people exchanges—further solidifying ties forged in blood and hope across continents.
