China-Africa cooperation forum 2024 concludes with strategic milestones

The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit concluded on Friday in Beijing, marking the end of a significant event aimed at strengthening ties between China and African nations.

In a joint press conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hailed the summit as a complete success, underscoring the elevation of bilateral relations between China and all African countries with which it maintains diplomatic ties to the level of strategic partnerships.

Reflecting on the summit’s key outcomes, Wang Yi highlighted that six major proposals were introduced to drive modernization efforts in both China and Africa.

These proposals lay the groundwork for an ambitious action plan to advance China-Africa cooperation across various sectors.

In a notable development, Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled ten partnership initiatives for modernization aimed at deepening China-Africa collaboration over the next three years.

These initiatives are designed to bolster economic, technological, and social ties between the two regions, further enhancing their strategic partnership.

The ninth edition of the FOCAC summit, held every three years, commenced on Wednesday under the theme, “Joining Hands for Modernization: Building a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.”

The summit brought together over 350 representatives from China, African nations, and regional organizations, fostering dialogue on shared challenges and opportunities for mutual development.

As the summit concluded, participants reflected on the importance of the China-Africa partnership in navigating global challenges and advancing shared goals.

The forum underscored the commitment of both sides to foster a future characterized by closer cooperation, sustainable development, and a shared vision for modernization.
