In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and commitment to education, former students and staff of Alifa Zezerti High School in Mao, Chad, have launched an ambitious campaign to collect books for their alma mater’s library.
Spearheaded by passionate alumni and teachers, the initiative aims to gather at least 1,000 books to help revitalize the school’s library—an essential resource for students in a region where educational tools are often scarce.
The campaign is not only a gesture of goodwill but also a call to action for all who value learning, culture, and the empowerment of future generations.
“This campaign is open to all citizens of Chadian or other nationalities who are concerned about children’s education, who love culture, knowledge sharing, and the success of the future generation,” organisers explained.
The book drive has drawn attention not just within Chad but across borders, engaging well-wishers from neighboring countries and beyond. Organisers have made it easy for contributors—whether within Chad or abroad—to get involved.
