Cameroon’s Minister of State and Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, has lauded President Paul Biya as a symbol of wisdom among African leaders, delivering a powerful tribute during the opening of a national political conference held in Yaoundé.
Speaking on behalf of the Head of State, Ndongo described Biya as “the embodiment of wisdom in the circle of Heads of State,” underscoring his enduring influence and leadership within the continent.
The gathering, attended by senior officials, academics, and political figures, centered around the theme: “Paul Biya’s Community Liberalism, a political thought for the present and the future of Cameroon.”
The national conference delved into the ideological framework that has shaped Biya’s decades-long presidency, with scholars and participants examining the relevance of his philosophy in guiding both current governance and future national development.
As part of the conference proceedings, a two-volume collective scientific work was unveiled and presented in a book signing ceremony.
The first volume, titled “Paul Biya’s Communitarian Liberalism: An Idea of the State and National Unity,” explores Biya’s vision of statecraft, sovereignty, and efforts to foster national cohesion.
The second volume, “Paul Biya’s Communitarian Liberalism: A Vision of Man and Development,” focuses on his approach to human development and socio-economic transformation.
The event offered a platform for in-depth discussion on Biya’s legacy and the continued relevance of his political ideology in the face of shifting political, economic, and social dynamics in Cameroon and beyond.
Organisers described the conference as not only a celebration of Biya’s political doctrine but also a reaffirmation of its centrality in shaping policy discourse and national identity in the years to come.
