A prominent Cameroonian industrialist in his forties, has been appointed president of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Association of Cameroon
Known as PAJEC, after a unanimous decision by the organisation’s founding members during an extraordinary session held in Yaoundé, as he pledges to drive industrialisation and strengthen the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises into national and regional value chains while guiding a network of nearly nine hundred members through a challenging economic landscape
Sikam, who founded and leads FISCO Industries, a major manufacturer of hygiene and cleaning products under the SIMAD and SIMPHARMA brands, returned to Cameroon in 2012 after an academic and professional career that began in France and continued in the United States where he earned a Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas in Dallas and worked in finance including at Morgan Stanley before pursuing further leadership training at the Stanford SEED Transformation Program in 2023 and the Presidential Precinct Leadership Program at the University of Virginia in 2025, both initiatives aimed at high-impact African entrepreneurs
Since establishing FISCO Industries in 2015 with only four employees, Sikam has grown the company to twenty-six staff members and positioned it as a key player in the hygiene sector within the CEMAC sub-region, while also serving in influential roles across the Cameroonian private sector including as president of the SME Development Center within GICAM from 2020 to 2023, co-founder and first vice-president of PAJEC, and head of the SME unit at SYNDUSTRICAM where he championed sustainable and sovereign industrialisation as well as representing Cameroon at the Francophone Employers’ Group and the African Builders network
His leadership also gained prominence in 2023 when he became a leading voice in the “Refound Cameroonian Employers” movement launched by The Okwelians think-tank which he co-founded, opposing the merger of GICAM into GECAM and advocating for a private sector overhaul to create a more inclusive and innovative economic environment, a vision that now shapes his mandate at PAJEC
“ We came to PAJEC to consolidate our achievements, but above all to work towards the creation of an umbrella organisation that listens to its members and is capable of influencing economic agendas to the benefit of those who have placed their trust in me, ” Sikam said as he prepares to strengthen the group’s governance and visibility while serving alongside Dr Dalvarice Ngoudjou, the association’s vice-president, in an organisation that has already achieved a combined turnover of one hundred and ten billion CFA francs since its creation in 2022
“ I am honoured by this responsibility, especially at a time when the voice of young entrepreneurs is still struggling to be heard in major public arbitrations, ” he added, vowing to connect PAJEC’s members with financing and support mechanisms essential to building resilience and ensuring their growth within Cameroon’s evolving business environment
